Todd and Jeanette Nance
Today’s post will be brief. Our friend Todd met Jesus face to face yesterday morning after a long battle with health issues starting with a brain tumor which was found over 15 years ago. Here’s the thing, as I know the story when they got married this brain tumor thing was not in play. However less than a year into the marriage there is was. They had a choice to make – live life or mope. Well let me tell you, they choose life and they choose to do life TOGETHER.
Their marriage was a living example of a covenant marriage. When Todd married Jeanette he also got Wade, instant family. I grew up in a family like that. I know it’s wonderful and challenging. They did it.
We first met them when our family moved to Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp. They moved there at nearly the same time and our boys are the same age = Camp Kids. We have great memories of raising our kids together with the Camp Staff, moving into Milford, trying to figure out Debate and teaching kids to drive and …. All the while Jeanette and Todd are hosting some mean games of Trivial Pursuit (Todd was a whiz at that) and how to enjoy the beauty of nature while in a wheelchair. They had bumps in their marriage. We all do but they choose to stay together and work through them.
These past few years they had been embraced by a wonderful church family which only helped to make their faith stronger. Jeanette never gave up on God. Todd took some time to search out what he believed but in the end he realized the truth. God loves him.
Today I just want to honor our friends Todd and Jeanette for living out what they believe, marriage is forever, no matter what life throws at you. Thank you and our prayers are with you Jeanette, Wade and Karen as you transition into a new season of life.
