Christmas is past and before you know it, it will be 2015. We’ve been pretty quiet for some time now. It’s time to let you know that God continues to work in and through Treasure Chest Ministries. When we officially started this 6 years ago we were venturing out into something we (Mark and I) had been dabbling at for a very long time. God has given us hearts that see the value of the people in God’s Kingdom. Somehow in this crazy, busy, wild world people’s value seems to get lost, or sometimes snuffed out by the pressures of this world. We all get discouraged and tired when we try to do life on our own. There is a reason for that. God created us to do life together. Koinonia is the Biblical word for it. Fellowship in it’s fullest meaning is doing life together. Corinthians talks about us as a physical body, something I am well familiar with as a nurse. If one, just one, part of the body is not functioning properly the whole rest of the body suffers. Enter Treasure Chest Ministries, people with a vision for focusing ministry to what God has called each of us to do; do our part along side others doing their part and live as a strong, healthy body all together. There is nothing like “the church” when the church is functioning well.
So while we’ve been quiet on social media for awhile God has re-confirmed our call to do what we are doing and is providing some amazing people and opportunities. Our focus is still people and small to medium sized ministries of all types. In the ever-changing society around the world we see many large corporations and ministries struggling to make ends meet. It’s never been our goal to become a large corporate structure. God has given us opportunities to work with several different ministries which operated in a variety of ways before we began TCM. This enabled us to choose what works best for us. We work, like many in scripture, to provide our own basic living outside of Treasure Chest Minitries. This allows TCM to operate without high fees. We LOVE it! We have donors who have caught the vision and support us along with a portion of the stipends/fees paid to all Treasures.
God continues to connect us to fantastic people. We don’t personally “do” what they do. We watch for ways to help them do what they do. Some Treasures have yet to be “placed” via our ministry. What we do consistently offer is our prayer support, a listening, confidential ear and positive exposure at every opportunity we are given to share. Currently Mark has taken on a new church to help lead into a deeper worship. I continue to write and am currently working on some lessons to share with women. There are women meeting in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on a monthly basis under the umbrella of TCM. There is a not-for-profit operating there teaching children the value of good nutrition through growing gardens. We are their fiscal agent. Others around the MidWest primarily are doing their thing entirely on their own such as giving away over 5000 bikes to children in need and writing books and blogs encouraging simplicity in life, health or Biblical knowledge. This year we have taken on 3 children’s ministries. One is video based, one is to teach Godly parenting and one can provide VBS type teaching right in your own backyard. From a CPA specializing in clergy taxes to a financial planner, worship leaders, women’s speakers, people to fill pulpits, marriage ministry/mentoring the list goes on. What do you need? How might you join us? Could you be one of our prayer warriors? Is there something God is calling you to do but you just can’t seem to get started? Are you stuck? Maybe, just maybe 2015 is the year that we need to talk. We’d love to help. Contact us at tcm@treasurechestministries.org
