Oh the Beauty…
What did I do to deserve the right to behold such beauty? Nothing, really, except that such beauty belongs to Papa and it is His delight to share it with His children. It is His delight to show us how beautiful He is if we are willing to quiet ourselves and behold Him. “Behold” is an interesting word. Seeing that I enjoy definitions (I’m nerdy like that) let us “behold” its meaning:
Behold: to see or observe (a thing or person, especially a remarkable or impressive one); synonyms: gaze at/upon, regard, contemplate, witness, survey.
Lately I find myself asking, what do I behold? What stops me in my tracks and causes me to gaze and study more intently? I have found that many things compete for my steady gaze and I’m sure many of you can relate, right? Yet, when all is said and done, the only thing worth beholding in the beauty of Jesus. How has He captured your attention lately? Have you let Him captivate you recently? Is anything holding you back from seeing Him rightly? Wherever you may find yourself, know that He has never once looked away from you. His gaze is ever upon you, tender, compassionate, and unconditional.
